THE SECRETARY OF INDUSTRY VISITED OUR SHIPYARD IN PUNTA ALVEAR -SANTA FE
The officer took a tour through the "Astillero Punta Alvear", a shipyard which supplies the Argentine fleet.
This Tuesday, the Secretary of Industry of the province, Claudio Mossuz, and the director of Infrastructure and Industrial Strengthening, Marcelo Cogno, walked the company, Astillero Atria, located in Alvear, which is working in a project to become the first fishing boat manufacturer in Santa Fe.
“Visiting a company such as Atria, a unique shipyard in the country, manufacturing vessels of this size is very important, we value this type of industrial effort,” Mossuz pointed out.
The company, leader in river transport in the waterway region, has a network of transport services in the Parana – Paraguay Rivers covering Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, throughout about 4,000 kilometers of navigable ways.
In this sense, the Secretary of Industry predicted that “not many people from Santa Fe know that in our province we are able to do this type of construction. Having a company of this scale on the shore of a river covering 700 kilometers of coast in our province has high implications”.
The shipyard is one of the most modern of its kind in South America, and has the “sufficient and adequate infrastructure to build any type of vessel; our intention in the future is to build fishing boats for the Argentine fleet”, Claudio Vidal pointed out.
